REAL PEOPLE.
REAL JOURNEYS.
REAL RESULTS.
These aren't stories about perfect people who had everything figured out.
They're stories about ordinary people who decided something needed to change — and took the first step.
IT'S ABOUT
MORE.
Weight loss is one measure of progress. Getting fitter is another. Getting stronger is another.
But real change goes much further.
It's having more energy. Feeling better. Building confidence. Improving your health. Recovering from setbacks. Finding people who support you.
And becoming capable of doing things you once thought you couldn't.
THE GOAL ISN'T
PERFECTION.
IT'S PROGRESS.
Everyone starts somewhere. What matters is what happens after you decide to start.
GREGG
FIVE STONE
GONE.
Gregg can still remember the day he made his first change.
He was lying in bed on a Saturday morning, scrolling Facebook, completely fed up with being fed up. Unfit, overweight and unhappy with where life was going.
Then a Be Awesome Fitness advert appeared.
"Fuck it. What have I got to lose?"
He messaged Rob and within days he was training. Over the following 6–9 months, Gregg went from around 17 stone to 12 stone.
Then Covid happened and the gym closed.
Gregg tried other gyms afterwards but struggled. Injuries, excuses and the wrong environment made training difficult.
When Be Awesome Fitness returned, Gregg returned too.
Three months later, another three stone had gone.
Gregg also came back with a frozen shoulder that had been causing problems for around 18 months. After six weeks of training, he was around 99% back to normal shoulder movement.
"You just need to find the gym that suits you."
But perhaps the most important part of Gregg's story isn't the number on the scales.
It's that he found somewhere he actually wanted to turn up to.
DIFFERENT
STARTING POINTS.
Every person comes through the door with a different reason for being there. These are some of their stories.
BREAKING
THE CYCLE
Rob first started training at Be Awesome Fitness in 2019 after his business had taken over his life.
Long hours, stress, poor food choices and very little exercise had left him massively overweight and constantly fatigued.
Having trained in a number of gyms over the years, he knew he didn't want the typical gym environment. He wanted good equipment, a plan, structure and someone who would give him a kick up the arse when he needed it.
He found exactly that — along with good people, plenty of banter and a coach who cared about what people were doing, how they were doing it and how they were feeling.
"If you constantly feel like shit and want to break the cycle... Rob's the guy that can make it happen."
TAKING
HEALTH SERIOUSLY
After having a heart attack, John knew it was time to take his health seriously.
Inspired by the results of another member, he decided to give the gym a try. His initial goals were simple: improve his fitness and lose some weight.
Before joining, John describes an unhealthy lifestyle involving too much alcohol, poor eating habits and the feeling that he was getting old before his time.
Since joining, he says he is fitter and leaner, has more energy and no longer has the same concerns about his cholesterol.
His strength has improved, his eating habits have changed and his mindset has changed with them.
"If I can do it, anyone can."
STRONGER
THAN BEFORE
John joined after seeing an advert on Facebook and deciding it was time to take action with his health.
He wanted to lose weight, improve his body composition and become stronger.
At the beginning, he felt uncomfortable and unfit and was worried that intense exercise might trigger a heart attack.
Since joining, John says his blood pressure has returned to normal, his resting heart rate has improved, his energy levels are higher and he has lost weight while eating healthier.
One of his biggest achievements has been his recovery following a stroke during lockdown.
He went from struggling to lift a baking potato to lifting weights comparable to — and sometimes greater than — able-bodied people.
"Recovering from my stroke was the biggest challenge I've ever faced."
FROM NERVOUS
TO PROUD
Richard joined having never been in a gym before and admits he was scared at first.
His goal was to lose weight and rebuild his confidence after feeling unhealthy and unhappy with himself.
When he started, keeping up with other people's fitness levels was difficult.
Consistency and effort gradually changed that.
The gym became somewhere that made him happy and set him up for the day.
He has also had to overcome challenges along the way, including dealing with loose skin, but has continued pushing forward.
"My journey isn't over yet... but I'm proud of how far I've come."
AND THEN
THERE'S THESE GUYS.
OWEN
Owen wanted to get fitter and healthier but didn't feel confident going to a gym on his own.
Since joining, he has noticed huge improvements in his health, fitness, strength and confidence.
The atmosphere has made training enjoyable, with plenty of laughs, chats and support.
"JUST DO IT."RHYS
Rhys wanted to make a real lifestyle change, get stronger and finally have the support to reach his goals.
He has seen major physical and mental changes, including weight loss, toning up, increased strength and much greater confidence.
Having the workouts set up and ready removes the guesswork and makes consistency easier.
"I ACTUALLY LOOK FORWARD TO MY SESSIONS."
THE
COMMUNITY
Across all of these stories, one thing keeps appearing again and again.
The people.
The banter. The encouragement. The conversations. The feeling that everyone is there for the same reason — to better themselves.
MORE THAN A GYM.
YOU DON'T HAVE
TO BE READY.
YOU JUST HAVE TO START.
You might be unfit. You might be overweight. You might be nervous about joining a gym. You might have tried before.
None of that matters as much as taking that first step.
YOUR STORY
COULD BE NEXT.
Whatever your starting point, we'll help you work out where to go next.
